Chad Rankle

Chad Rankle entered the anthropology program at the University of California, San Diego in 2019. He received a Bachelors of Arts degree in anthropology in 2018, and the following year, his Masters of Science in Geographic Information Systems from California State University Long Beach. Mr. Rankle has worked in the cultural resource management industry of Southern California, and has experience on archaeological projects in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and the US Southwest. He served as a Predoctoral Intern for the Archaeometry Laboratory at the University of Missouri Research Reactor in 2022-2023. He was a Mercatus Center and Liberty Fund Inc. Adam Smith Fellow 2023-2024 and has accepted the Mercatus Center Frédéric Bastiat Fellowship for 2024-2025. His interests include geochemistry, isotopic analyses, and archaeological studies of diet and mobility in Lower Central America.
